Love is not the icing on the cake of life. It is a basic primary need, like oxygen or water. Once we understand and accept this, we can more easily get to the heart of relationship problems. ~ Sue Johnson
Overview
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a highly effective, evidence-based treatment approach, especially beneficial for couples but also effective for individuals. Rooted in attachment theory and emotional awareness, EFT helps address the core relational needs we all have as human beings. The therapy focuses on improving emotional bonds by helping partners or individuals explore and express their deeper emotions. This helps build stronger connections, resolve conflicts, and foster a more secure emotional attachment.
At Restart Counseling, we use EFT to help individuals understand the root causes of their relationship challenges and work towards building trust and emotional safety within their relationship. EFT is also used to help people develop healthier emotional responses and navigate relationship issues with clarity and compassion.
Who This is For
EFT is ideal for:
- Individuals in relationships where there are frequent arguments, emotional disconnection, or feelings of being "stuck."
- Individuals struggling with relationship issues rooted in attachment needs.
- People who want to rebuild trust, improve communication, and foster emotional intimacy.
- Those who have experienced emotional injuries within their relationship and want to heal.
