Memories don’t have to control your future. With the right guidance, healing from trauma is possible.
Overview
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. Whether the trauma stems from a single event, such as an accident or loss, or from long-term emotional neglect or abuse, EMDR helps reduce the emotional and psychological impact of those memories.
At Restart CDA, we utilize EMDR to treat a variety of conditions, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders. Through this structured approach, we work with clients to change the way their brain processes distressing memories, allowing them to remember the event without the associated negative emotions.
Who This is For
EMDR is particularly helpful for individuals who:
- Have experienced trauma, either from a single event or ongoing emotional or physical distress.
- Struggle with negative beliefs about themselves related to past experiences (e.g., "I’m not worthy," "It was my fault").
- Suffer from anxiety, depression, panic disorders, or PTSD.
- Feel “stuck” in life due to unresolved emotional issues linked to past experiences.
